Children are the an infuriating yet utterly fascinating subject. Anyone with a child understands the sheer difficulty of obtaining a posed photo of a child, every school photo ever taken proves my point. Yet, for a photographer, they give us our best photographs bar none. I’m fortunate enough to work in a City where photography is part of the culture, so candid photographs of other’s people’s children are both attainable and appreciated. This gallery represents some of my favorite work capturing the faces of the next generations of New Yorkers as they play on the streets and parks of the City. They, and their parents, are a core part of what makes photography in New York City the hardest work you will ever love.
